Rappahannock County, Virginia Soil Evaluation (Perc Test) for Septic System Location

Bordering the Thornton River on its northeastern border, we recently completed a soil evaluation (perc test) for a conventional septic system several miles south of Lee Highway in Rappahannock County, Virginia. A Virginia Department of Health (VDH) construction permit application packet for a primary and reserve conventional septic system will be submitted to the Rappahannock County VDH Environmental Health Specialist for approval.

The importance of our services are apparent since we offer you the opportunity of considering all options. We believe that our obligation to advise and integrate your objectives in an unbiased manner will help locate the most cost efficient septic system for your parcel. For this property, we assisted the owner in locating important features; and gave our opinion regarding siting a home, driveway, viewscape, water well and tree health.

The dominant soil type of the parcel is Brandywine gritty loam with highly weathered granite and gneiss, well-drained sandy loam below 40 inches and water table found at greater than 80 inches.  The soil evaluation provided information on several important design characteristics including soil structure, depth to restrictive features (rock) and drainage patterns.
