This January 2016 project was located in The Plains. A 1960’s drainfield was malfunctioning. After assessing the situation, it was determined that the drainfield needed to be replaced. A site and soil evaluation determined that there was a large enough site to propose a 3 bedroom conventional drainfield. All applicable state and Fauquier County Chapter 17 septic regulations were met. Some of these constraints included horizontal separations distances to a developed spring and water well. Characteristics of the soil included determining depth to rock, soil texture, soil structure, color and percolation rate.
